American Canyon Transit (The Duck)

Effective August 18, 2010 American Canyon Transit will begin serving American Canyon High School

The Map and Schedule provided below take effect August 18, 2010

The American Canyon Transit (ACT) service, aka The Duck, operates a fixed route but will deviate off route, upon request, for door-to-door service for seniors and disabled persons. ACT also serves American Canyon High School during AM and PM Peak service hours. (see map and schedule below). ACT serves local shopping centers, schools and community locations in American Canyon, as well as, Sutter Solano Hospital, Kaiser Hospital and the Sereno Transfer Center in Vallejo.

New AM and PM Peak Service: a larger bus will be used during Peak Service. The front destination sign on the larger buses will display "American Canyon High School. Peak Service will stop at existing ACT and VINE bus stops, they are:

FREQUENCY

Regular service operates on a 90-minute frequency Monday to Friday with no weekend service. AM and PM Peak Service operates on a 20-minute frequency.

FARES

Fixed Route Fares The following fares apply to passengers that board and exit the bus while on route.

Children age 5 and younger (limit 2 per paying Adult) ride free. Additional children pay $.50 each child.

DOOR-TO-DOOR FARES

Seniors (age 65+) and Disabled Persons $1.00

Medicare Cardholder $1.00

TRANSFERS

Passengers paying a fare can request a free transfer to or from VINE Route 10. Please ask the Driver for the transfer upon boarding the bus. A transfer to VINE Route 10 is good for a one-zone trip only. For travel beyond one-zone the passenger must pay the additional fare.

DOOR-TO-DOOR SERVICE

ACT makes every effort to accommodate those with special needs. Seniors and disabled persons can arrange for a deviated pickup by calling (707) 557-7557. Passengers with time sensitive appointments are encouraged to make arrangements ahead of time. Because of the popularity of the service, a maximum of four requests are filled per hour, if available. Passengers that use a wheelchair or scooter are asked to provide this information when requesting a deviated pickup so sufficient time can be scheduled.

HOLIDAYS

No service on: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Special service may be operated on July 4th.

BICYCLES

A bicycle rack is located on the front exterior bumper of ACT buses and will hold up to two bikes at a time.
